Since Balthasar Volcano is enthroned on one of the most beautiful hills around the Wolfgangsee, it would be really alarming especially for the place if there would be a direct lake access :)
But for our guests we have of course some possibilities to choose from to use the Wolfgangsee.
Since 2022 the 5000m2 area of the Bacherlwiese offers a beautiful access to the Wolfgangsee. Here there is a small snack stand with seating, restrooms and some parking.

There is no sunbathing area here, but a small wooden platform offers space to linger. There are also benches there and you are only a few meters from the center of St. Wolfgang.

All our guests, especially those with dogs, get vouchers for the day entrance at Camping Appesbach. Here, in addition to a small boat, canoe and sup rental, a restaurant, snack bars, toilet facilities and a sunbathing lawn await you.

If you like to explore other places around the lake by bike, on foot or by car we can recommend you the most beautiful ones. Both in Strobl, Abersee and St. Gilgen there are some free and not free bathing places. Also between the villages there are beautiful natural baths and places to linger.
For those who like it cooler, there is also the possibility to use the rivers and streams in the area. We will be happy to inform you about this as well.
